Sunpentown Wine Cooler
Funny Name, eh!
Sunpentown wine cooler is an odd sounding name for a company and no matter how hard I dig, I can't locate any reasoning as to why they chose that name. If you or anyone has any info on the name, please let us know. Nor can I find the date they went into business but I am guessing it has to be over ten years as they have a large supply of different products and they are a wine cooler manufacturer. I have located nine different Sunpentown wine cooler units and out of that, five seem to be thermoelectric wine coolers and of course the balance will be compressor cooled units. As far as capacity goes the Sunpentown coolers come in a range of six to a 42 bottle wine cooler; not a very broad range but usually suitable for the average wine fancier or beginner. For colors we have the usual black and silver but they are well used as these Supentown wine cooler units appear very strong looking; a few of them remind me of a floor safe. So you do get the feeling that your precious cargo is well cared for. There was very little literature available through my searches even though the Supentown wine cooler is widely sold on and off line.
I do have one concern about these units and if I lived close to California I wouldn't have any. There doesn't appear to be any service depots other than at their headquarters. Other companies like: Danby and Haier have up to 1500 service sites which makes repairs easier and most likely, less costly. I do like the units as they look a little different than the usual coolers we find and the prices are pretty good. As I stated before, repair and warranty work does bother me with only having the one solitary location, but then again the wine coolers of today are pretty reliable, especially the thermoelectric wine cooler. Over all it is certainly up to you on this one and on a score out of 10, I would definitely give a Supentown wine cooler an eight. I don't believe any product is worthy of a perfect score as there is bound to be something someone will find wrong. We are here to help you with your choices and designs.
