I hear you're looking for an 80 bottle wine cooler cellar. Is it going to be a replacement or your first purchase... exciting, isn't it? You're now moving up to a larger unit or just planning for future wine stocks, which is a very wise idea as most of us usually buy too small and then complain about it.

No doubt you've figured out that the bigger the wine cellar cabinet the bigger the space needed to place it. The average 80 bottle wine cooler cellar measures about 30W x 29D x 40H inches which is pretty good when you think about it; that's a pretty small space for 80 bottles. However, it would be nice if the height could be kept under 30 inches to be at the same level as the countertop. but I have yet to locate one. Cellars of this size are normally cooled like the smaller thermoelectric coolers which are great for suppressing noise and vibration. The 80 bottle wine cooler cellars, just like the larger ones come as a sealed box. That just means there is no window in the door which is much better than glass.

Windows in the doors are just for looks and do not provide any service to your wine. As a matter of fact it does a disservice as wines stored in darkness, along with temperature and humidity control, will age much more gracefully. It is nice to show what is in the cellar without opening the door, so if the wine cellar isn't in a bright sunny room, that pretty window shouldn't cause any damage.

The cost is climbing up as you choose a larger wine cooling unit so you need to be sure you are buying the right size unit for you and the future of your wine collection. Buying wine coolers of this size makes for a major decision, especially if you intend to make this a one time purchase. Like I have said before, decide what you want and go at least 20 to 40 percent larger, chances are you're be happy you did.
